What the day actually does
You meet at Bulleid Way in Victoria at quarter past eight and leave at half past. Fifteen minutes of gathering, then north to Warwick Castle for an hour and a half, with somebody waiting at the gate to meet the group in. From there the coach drives through the Cotswolds without stopping, then reaches Shakespeare’s Birthplace for an hour.
Oxford takes the last hour, plus a half-hour stop at the University Church of St Mary the Virgin, which is the tower most people photograph the Radcliffe Camera from. The return is to Gloucester Road Underground rather than to Bulleid Way, at about seven — worth knowing when you plan the evening.
Sixteen grades, and how to read them
This is the widest booking menu of any day on this route, and it is easier than it looks. Four languages — English, Spanish, Mandarin, Italian — multiplied by three entry levels: all entries, one entry, or none. Plus four Signature grades, which add premium seating on the coach and a lunch pack.
The advertised fare is a no-entry grade. If you want to go inside Warwick Castle and Shakespeare’s Birthplace, pick all entries. If you only care about one of them, one entry exists for exactly that, which is a genuinely useful option nobody else on this route offers.
Why pick this over the Victoria Coach Station days
Three reasons, all of them practical. The meet-and-greet at the castle gate matters if a group of forty walking in at once is your idea of a bad start. The hour at Shakespeare’s Birthplace is longer than the forty-five minutes the other days schedule. And if English is not your first language, this is the only product here that guides in Mandarin or Italian.
Against that: the base fare excludes food and drink outright, and the return to Gloucester Road catches people who assumed a round trip. Neither is hidden — both are in the listing — but both are worth knowing before you book.

Know before you go
- Read the grade before you pay. Sixteen options. The advertised fare is a no-entry one; “all entries” is the grade that gets you inside.
- You return to Gloucester Road. Not to Bulleid Way. Plan the evening from there rather than from Victoria.
- Meeting time is 8:15, departure 8:30. Fifteen minutes of gathering is built into the schedule; use it rather than arriving at 8:29.
- Food and drink are excluded. The base fare covers neither. The Signature grades add a lunch pack.
- The Cotswolds is a drive, not a stop. Named in the inclusions as a drive-through, with no photo stop.
- Free cancellation at 24 hours. Full refund if you cancel at least a day ahead; nothing after that.

Warwick Castle was the best part by a distance. Do go in knowing it is an overview day, not a stay-as-long-as-you-like one — they waited nine minutes for a late couple and then left, and they were right to.

We started at Warwick Castle, where there are plenty of self-guided walks around the property. The jousting is built on the Wars of the Roses so there is real history in it. The only guided walk of the day was Oxford.

The castle is good, though it has a strong theme-park feel and is clearly aimed at the younger market. Still enjoyable — it just helps to know that is the style before you go in.
