Warwick Castle Shows & Attractions

Eleven things run at Warwick Castle on an ordinary day in season, and four of them have fixed clock times. Two of those four clash with each other. Read the timetable first, pick your two, and build the rest of the day around them — that one decision is the difference between seeing the flying display and hearing about it from somebody else on the coach home.

The timetable

Everything marked Included comes with any admission ticket. The two marked Extra charge are paid separately on the day.

The Falconer’s Quest — noon and 3:30 pm

The castle’s flying display, over Pageant Field, with more than sixty birds. It is the thing most people name when they get home. It runs twice a day between 28 March and 1 November 2026, watched from the grass, with no seats — bring a blanket. If you can only see one show here, see this one.

The Legend of the Trebuchet — 10:30 am and 1:30 pm

The working siege machine on the river island, fired in a live show on selected dates in the same season. Two things worth knowing. It does not run every day the castle is open. And machinery this size sometimes does not run at all — one visitor arrived to film it and found it out of action. Check on the day before you plan around it.

The Castle Dungeon — extra, and 10 and over

A live-actor walk through the darker end of the town’s history, running through the day. It is not in your admission ticket. You add it once you are inside, from £10 a head at the Courtyard Ticket and Information Office, subject to availability. It is not suitable for children under ten, and anyone under eighteen needs a parent or guardian with them.

During the October evening events the same attraction is priced differently again, so check what you are buying on the day you are there.

The Zog shows — and the date they stop

Three separate things run under the Zog name: a live show at 1:00 pm, Zog and the Flying Doctors at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm, and meet-and-greets at five points through the day. There is also an activity trail and a playland. All of it runs 28 March to 27 September 2026, which is a full month before the rest of the outdoor programme finishes.

That gap is worth planning around. A family arriving in mid-October gets the falconry and the trebuchet and no Zog at all, and small children notice.

History Talks — free, daily, and nobody books them

The castle’s own staff run short guided talks through the day at no extra cost. They are the closest thing here to a guided tour of the building, and the most overlooked thing on the site. Arrived on a coach day and assumed the guide would take you round? This is what you actually want. The guide gets you through the gate; the castle itself is walked on your own.

Zog Playland and the Horrible Histories® Maze

Both run daily, both are listed as weather permitting, and both are outdoors. The playland has a zip rope and towers and is fully accessible. The maze is quicker than it looks, and is the thing to do while somebody else queues for coffee. Neither has a fixed time, which makes them the useful fillers between the shows that do.

Have-a-go Archery — seasonal and extra

Runs seasonally, costs extra on the day, and is the one attraction on the list that is neither dated nor timetabled. Ask at the Courtyard Ticket and Information Office when you go in.

Building a day around the clock

Two of the fixed times overlap awkwardly. The trebuchet at 1:30 pm and the falconry at noon are close enough that lunch has to fit around them. The 3:30 pm falconry is the easier of the two if your morning runs long. Climb the towers on opening, take the Great Hall before midday, watch the birds at noon, eat, then keep the afternoon for the Kingmaker and the grounds.
